Abortionist Tiller Admits to Performing Abortions the Day Before DeliveryHis Speech at National Education AssociationBy John-Henry Westen
ARLINGTON, VA, March 19, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Notorious partial-birth abortion specialist Dr. George Tiller of Wichita, KS, was caught on hidden video admitting to aborting babies a day before the mother's due date. Students for Life of America (SFLA) today released the video which was made at the Feminist Majority Foundation's annual Women's Leadership Conference held at the National Education Association (NEA) on March 9.
The video reveals Dr. Tiller showcasing massive and graphic pictures of children with fetal abnormalities that he had aborted, so as to make the case for late-term abortions as necessary medical procedure. SFLA's Executive Director Kristan Hawkins, who videotaped the conference and interviewed Tiller clandestinely, commented on the gruesome pictures of aborted children Tiller showed, saying, "One had an extra arm: could not that child had survived and received corrective surgery? Was violently killing the child the only way to go?"
"Pro-lifers are regularly condemned for displaying pictures of aborted babies, but here the pro-abortion crowd and the NEA are more than happy to showcase these graphic images, and even gave Dr. Tiller's presentation a standing ovation," added Hawkins.
Tiller, who currently faces 19 criminal charges for illegal late-term abortions in the state of Kansas, at first feigned ignorance of the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, a federal bill signed into law in 2002 that protects born children from murder and illegalizes infanticide. However when questioned further about the measure he spoke of his ideological objection to the legislation, saying, "Let's say you have 15 or 16, you had 1 slip out with a heartbeat; that is not a viable fetus, but that is born alive or has a heartbeat. Then you have to take that non-viable fetus and rush it directly to the hospital against the woman's wishes."
Given that the conference featuring Tiller was held at the National Education Association, it is probable that a good number of the more than three million members of the NEA would be voicing opposition if they were made aware of the situation.
"As a pro-life teacher, I can say this illustrates why I am no longer a member of the NEA," said Marla Mercer, a West Virginia teacher and former member of the National Education Association. "The NEA should not be involved in this issue; here they are hosting this controversial abortionist and his slideshow of babies he has aborted. There is no way any of my money will ever be used to advance the radical pro-abortion agenda of Planned Parenthood and the NEA."

Kansas doctor George Tiller killed today!
WICHITA, Kansas - Media reports say that abortion provider Dr. George Tiller has been shot and killed at his Wichita church. Tiller has been among the few U.S. physicians performing late-term abortion. His clinic has repeatedly been the site of protests for about two decades. He was acquitted in March of misdemeanor charges stemming from procedures he performed, but moments after the verdict the state’s medical board announced it was investigating allegations against him that are nearly identical to those the jury had rejected.

Thank God the monster is dead! Free the person who pulled the trigger, and he should not be charged!!

I don't know how he could judge babies who would not survive out of the womb. There are many babies who were thought to be handicapped or worse for life, who were born and lived perfectly normal lives. Everyone is handicapped in someway. These children have alot to offer and God, not Dr.Tiller, knows when there work is finished here.

So how can so many people care about this POS.. Let God sort it out and deal with this bastard

I couldn't agree more. Seeing pictures of the dead babies and knowing how much they suffered makes me think Dr. Tiller got by easy. He died instantly. These babies suffered horrible prolonged deaths.

I saw Dr. Tiller for a late-term abortion a few years ago. Texas law made doctors too afraid to perform the procedure here so my spouse and I had to go to Kansas. I found Dr. Tiller to be a caring, thoughtful professional who understood that ours was a difficult decision.
How anyone can justify or tolerate his murder in a church is beyond me. This just offers further proof that the "pro-life" movement is made up of hypocrites and simpletons. The moral bankruptcy of the religious right is nearly complete.

How can anyone kill a baby? Killing anyone - no matter where the location - is wrong. How can you condemn the person who killed Dr. Tiller and the Right to Life organization when you have done the same?

What I would like to know is why he was even at church? I'm certainly not the ideal christian, but I do know that God himself said... Thou shall not kill. Talk about hypocracy... he's got to be the biggest hypocrite there ever was and will be. I have a 5 month old, and I can't imagine my life without her. I can't even fathom the idea that someone would kill a 6 lb baby, then go to church. WTH!!! He should have been sentenced a long time ago just like all of the women like Andrea Yates that killed their young ones. The only thing different is that the women like Andrea Yates feel like they are doing themselves service, whereas... Dr. Tiller was doing the service for the women that wanted to kill their babies. Hired assign.

What's so difficult about such decision? It's nothing more than simply removing a blob of harmful tissue; like having your appendix out. Seems pretty straightforward to me........

Thank you. Tiller is dead. There truly is a God of justice. We should give the guy who put a cap in Tiller's ass a medal.

Thank you "Dr Tiller's client" for your comments. First of all I scream complete BS that he killed a baby one day before due date. Do you know why? Because NO MOTHER, NO MOTHER would have her baby murdered in her body one day before it was supposed to be born. ABSOLUTELY NO WAY IN HELL. As a mother of 2 young, beautiful boys, there is NO WAY any woman would do that so that is complete BS and I state that emphatically and no one who tries to argue otherwise is credible or true. No, with that dispelled, how in THE HELL can any of you hypocrite a-holes celebrate murder?! WTF is wrong with you cretons? There is a special place in hell for all of you and you can visit with the man whose death you are rejoicing while you are spending eternity there. You all are a disgusting bunch of POSs!!! Please don't EVER claim to be Christian because YOU ARE NOT!! YOU ARE NOT!!

Dear A_true_Christian,
Regarding your comment about Dr. Tiller not killing a baby the day before birth, Dr. Tiller himself says he aborted the baby one day before birth. How can you say he is lying? There is no need for him to make that up. Take his word for it, he is the doctor saying it in the video. See for yourself. It's tragic.

I think that denying what George Tiller has clearly admitted,
that he has performed at least one abortion the day before the child was due, that he does not support taking a viable child who survives abortion to the er, is a bit odd. (He has also admitted that he repeatedly broke the manditory reporting laws requiring him to report evidence of child sex abuse.)
Yes, there are mother's who would abort the day before the due date just as there are mothers who leave their babies in trash cans and toilets.
Are these the majority iof mothers, no. But the spectrum of sin and mental illness and horror and atrocity will not dissappear if you stamp your foot and say it isn't there.
George Tiller has been murdered and this was a desperate act, probably by someone who felt strongly that 60,000 babies who may have lived was just too much. It's hard not to be glad that this man was stopped. I would not want to have been the one to do it.
Many pro-choice people have been saying that any one who called him a killer (which he clearly was, even if only of the viable babies he refused to provide medical care for) or expressed rage at his tactics and practices, is an accomplice. That's absurd. Free speech and common sense dictate that. I am glad people spoke out against this man. I am sorry the laws that should have stopped him or at least put boundaries on his practice were not enforced.
If anything, the politicians who allowed him to continue breaking the law and practice unmolested are to blame for this tragedy.

I have a beautiful 14 month old daughter that I would gladly lay down my life for if hers were in danger, but I have also had an abortion. Death is a part of life. I respect life, I don't even like killing insects. I support the Children's Christian Fund and the Humane Society. Child abuse, torture and neglect make me sick to my stomach. Yes, abortion kills a potential child. But at the stage at which most abortions are performed, truly it is not a big deal (and I say this coming from someone who values and respects the life that lives on this planet). Women have abortions for many reasons, but the main one is that they are pro-life. No one wakes up one day, and says "Gee, what should I do today. How about having an abortion? That sounds like fun!" Women are inherently pro-life, protecting and nurturing children is something that comes naturally to a lot of women (not all). To me, having an abortion doesn't contradict that statement. Abortion is akin to euthanasia (defined as "the action of killing an individual for reasons considered to be merciful"). I think people need to grasp the bigger picture of life on this planet, and realize that the termination of a fetus, while not favorable is a natural part of the cycle of life.

Wonders if we performed late term abortions on Dogs and Cats what kind of reaction we would get? I am amazed how doctors can take a baby in the womb with a heart beat and brain waves, then break the baby's neck, suck the baby's brains out, crush the skull, discard the baby so the "mother" can go on with her life as if nothing happened. Dr. Tiller should have been charged as a serial killer and thrown under the prison.
Definition: A serial killer is a person who murders usually three or more people[1][2] over a period of more than 30 days with a "cooling off" period between each murder, whose motivation for killing is largely based on psychological gratification.[3][4] Often a sexual element is involved with the killings. The murders may have been attempted or completed in a similar fashion and the victims may have had something in common, for example occupation, race, appearance, gender, or age group.
Interesting if I don't say.

Most of the comments here like that Dr. Tiller is dead, thinking his absence will prevent abortions. This is very short-sighted thinking. His brutal murder makes anyone who agrees with it and calls themself a pro-life advocate a hypocrite. The pro-abortion forces in our country will use this event to pass more laws, at least on local and state levels, to reduce the freedoms of speech and peaceable assembly of protestors at abortion clinics, in the name of "safety". Those with pro-life tendencies will feel discouraged from publicly protesting abortion so as not to be associated with those who kill in the name of pro-life. Women will still get their abortion from other "doctors". This horrible event will only lead to more abortions, not less. Any other reasoning is naive.

To Karen123456: The 'natural termination of a fetus' is called miscarriage; the 'natural termination of a person out of the womb' is called death. These two terms are part of our natural life cycle. Infanticide and euthanasia are murder.

I don't believe that God ever wants His people to kill another person. I obviously can't speak for the man who shot Mr. Tiller, whatever his reasons were.
I believe however that God loved Mr. Tiller just like He loved Mother Teresa. He offers the same love to everyone. I believe also that Mr. Tiller died without asking God to forgive him for his horrible crimes toward the unborn and I shudder to think of his eternal punishment. He will not be unpunished.

SO MY QUESTION IS THIS... WHY DOESN'T OUR PRESS PRINT THIS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE LIBERAL NEWSPAPERS OF AMERICA. THEY SEEM TO THINK KILLING CHILDREN IS OK AND THOSE OPPOSED TO IT ARE THE CRIMINALS. WAKE UP AMERICA SEE WHAT OUR PRESIDENT AND OUR CONGRESS IS MAKING AMERICA OUT TO BE. TILLER WAS A MURDERER AND DOESN'T DESERVE THE PITY OR RESPECT FROM ANYONE. HE AND OTHERS HAVE MADE BIG DOLLARS, SOME OF WHICH ARE OUR DOLLARS KILLING CHILDREN. WAKE UP !!!!!

This Press Release came out on the same wire that MSM services get. The poster does not condone taking another life. Just as I am against abortion, because "my momma was pro-life" I am against one taking the law into ones hands. The rule of law should stand even for the least among us.
I beleive on speaking out as a 1st amendment right. We don;t have a constitutional right to kill someone unless ones life or property are in grave danger.
Just wanted to be clear.

I don't think I've seen such a showing of hate on this site ever, but I have not seen what these folks have to say about the Holocaust Museum shooting.
at 13:58 on June 15th, 2009
I wasn't totally happy with the comments as well. Folks are allowed their opinion but condoning this killing is a bit much for me. I added this sorry about a year ago, I guess it came up in the searches when he was killed.

I certainly am against killing of any type. I don't think Dr. Tiller deserved to die, but I do think he deserved some sort of sentencing. One thing I wish the government would invest in is programs that talk about pregnancy like... Sex Ed. There are so many pregnant teens out there having abortions. I know because I graduated not that long ago, and close to 25% of my graduating class had either had an abortion or a baby before graduation. I think Sex Ed should be a required course in HS, and they should talk about more than just womens periods. I graduated in 2003, and the last time I took Sex Ed was in 1996!!! I know that it doesn't matter how much people protest, people are still going to have abortions. That is why we need to equip people with information that way they don't become pregnant in the first place. This is such a sensitive subject among everyone, and I hope one day we can all come together, and live in a world without killing!!!
