Dunn's Smoked Meat: Possible Listeria Contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning against public consumption of Dunn's Famous smoked meat pouches, as the meat may be contaminated with the listeria bacteria.

The meat is sold in one-kilogram packages containing six pouches of 175 g bearing the stamp UPC 4 00007 55699 7 and best-before dates 2008 NO 01 and 2008 NO 02.

The meat was sold at Costco in Quebec, the Atlantic provinces and in Ottawa. There have been no reported illnesses associated with consumption of the meat pouches.

The pouches are made by Les Salaisons Desco Inc. of Boisbriand, Que.
