The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled President's Choice meat products, fearing they may contain E. coli. A news release published on Tuesday, June 30th, said that beef products such as steaks, roasts and ground beef may all be contaminated with E. coli.

President’s Choice beef that may be contaminated with E. coli 0157:H7 could cause serious illness. Symptoms include severe abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea.

There is no way to tell if the meat has been contaminated and officials warn that cooking the meat will not kill the bacteria. The products all have best before dates of April 29 the June 16, 2009. Consumers who may have purchased this fresh meat and then frozen it should check their freezers and dispose of any affected products.

The U.S. Agriculture Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced that JBS Swift Beef Co. in Colorado recalled beef products that may contain the harmful bacteria.

The following is a list of food suspected of being contaminated published by Canadian Food Inspceation Agency.

i can see now why more people are dying these days rather than in the fifties and sixties..back then most people grew their own crops and raised their own cattle...at least then we knew what we were eating..with all these chenimals being sprayed on everything we eat;we are going to be lucky to see the ripe old age of 70 yrs...its a very sad world we live in and it"s going to get worse....very strict legistration has to be put in place and enforced...{THINK THIS WILL HAPPEN}..LOL

Are you able to get a refund at the store, or are consumers out the money,  If lets say you have 20 steaks in your freezer why should the consumer be left with the expense.
