EU says China is the source of half of all dangerous goods seized in 2007

Certainly no big surprise to North Americans and the Media who knew all along, besides China's major problem with Pollution featured by a New Environmental studay yesterday, most likely resulting from increased Manufacturing of cheap consumer goods flooding into the World Markets, is it anyones surprise that half the goods are unfit for human consumption and hazardous to your health , everything from Pet food to Electrical appliances to counterfeit designer products one finds in most Supermarkets, Dollar Stores, and other Retail outlets.
With Government inaction it seems in order to not rock the boat which is sinking along with Consumer Confidence who insist on Cheap over their Health or Environment .

Barry Artiste, I like this story. It's good stuff.
I'm in favor of shutting down trade with China until they clean up their act.

Thanks Pep for the comments, though I too am in favour of limiting trade with china, the adage of money talks and bullsh*t walks pretty much sums up Government inaction on this.
On another note I was tempted to use my No Sh*t Sherlock photo on this, but figured we do not get a lot of European readership, though it has always been obvious to North Americans what China has been doing in decades.

Whoa, PEP! You want to shut down trade with China because their products suck? If you and Barry are right (and I think you two are right about Americans equating Chinese products with low quality) Americans will buy less Chinese products because the quality is so low.
Hey, on a related issue, I was wondering if anyone knows if some group has done a study comparing China's current industrial situation with our historical inustrial situation. Is current-day China equivalent to 1950s American industrial quality and output or is it more like 1850s American industrial quality and output. I would guess it's closer to the latter historical output.
