The American Association for Health Freedom state that the FDA has effectively banned a naturally-occurring form of vitamin B6 called pyridoxamine by declaring it a drug. This was in response to a petition filed by a drug company, the FDA declared pyridoxamine to be “a new drug.”

Going forward, any nutritional supplements containing pyridoxamine will be considered adulterated and illegal by the FDA, which may raid vitamin companies and seize such products.

Pyridoxamine occurs naturally in fish, chicken and vegetables. Basically the FDA is banning a substance from dietary supplements even though it is already present in the fodd supply which is now going to be considered an illegal drug.

Here is a little bit of info incase you don't know. Perhaps you can make sense of this, but I doubt it.

The Functions of vitamin B6 are:

It produces haemin, a component of haemoglobin. This substance gives red blood cells the ability to transport oxygen throughout the human body. Vitamin B6 regulates metabolism, digestion and fluid balance. Neurotransmitters in the nervous system are synthesized using vitamin B6 enzymes. Deficiency may cause nervousness, irritation, confusion, facial skin flakes, tongue inflammation and mouth ulcers. Elderly people may experience bad functioning of the immune system when B6 intake is too low.

Vitamin B6 in food!!!

Vitamin B6 can be found in breakfast cereals (muesli, bran flakes and porridge oats), brown rice, brown bread, wheat germ, yeast, nuts, seeds, lentils, potatoes, baked beans, soy beans, bananas, white fish and meat.

Am I going to be arrested now for chopping up my banana and adding it to my morning muesli drenched in soy milk? I beg for the morons in charge to please advise the American public on what EXACTLY they are trying to do and who they are trying to fool?

This is not the first time something like this has happened. Refer to www.naturalnews.com for more details.

Will water be illegal next? Maybe apples?

This is a great example of:

How our government of the United States is overly corrupt and DOES NOT actually care about the health and welfare of it's citizens. Why you should never claim that you are not "into" politics and the government because guess what? This effects YOU!

Also it's why I feel that my college education was obviously a waste because I specifically remember learning about how vital Vitamin B6 is to our health in three classes including Nutrition, Cardiac Function, and Elderly Developmental Health.

I guess what I learned was wrong. I guess going to college must be useless. So are they now going to retract all this information from all text books and cut down god knows how many trees to reprint a blatant lie that Vitamin B6 which happens to reside in banana is now property of a DRUG company and  it is now illegal.

Maybe instead of methadone clinics we should just serve syringes of mashed potatoes, bananas, and brown rice. Oh no, you're right, that's baby food. So babies and supermarkets are also going to be breaking the law. What a shame.

Watch out Miss Chiquita Banana looks like you may be trading in your headdress for handcuffs.

Haha, true. It just saddens me that there are individuals that still believe they have our best interests in mind.

Regulate Supplements

There are several substances that occur in natural foods that, in pharmacological concentrations can be harmful. Examples are vitamin A, nicotine and caffeine. It is time we require supplement peddlers live up to their responsibilities as any other vendor of drugs or foods. The argument that "it occurs in nature, so it's OK to sell it in a concentrated supplement form" does not wash.

There is a difference between supplements such as black cohosh for example and vitamins. So are you saying that all vitamins should be taken off the shelves?

The argument is a corrupt government agency over monetary/corporate issues regarding a natural substance. You used nicotine as an example and I know 7 people in my life who have died of lung cancer and zero who have died over taking their vitamin.

I have been taking a vitamin B6 supplement for years and have not had any toxic reactions. There is a such thing as personal responsibility and knowing what vitamins one needs and how to take them. In the rare event that someone does overdoes from taking too much vitamin b6 (pyridoxine), the possibility of kidney stones, tingly fingers and toes, and loss of balance are reversable.

If people have the right to eat all the junk and fast food, to then go on and have a  triple bypass, then I reserve the right to determine how and where I get my vitamins from that I need to be healthy.

What doesn't wash is the point your trying to make.
