Truemorsbefore they plant the rice the fields all have this golden grass planted in it... my guess is for weed control so the fields don't end up looking like our backyard does now
*later noted: it's wheat! apparently Japan has a surplus of rice so the government started replacing rice paddies with wheat...thanks icecream ivy. what a ridiculously prosperous country.
