This study which states coffee is great for your health, may have many woner what if, what if Coffee prices rose as fast as gas prices?  What would you choose?

With the price of a gallon of gas reaching prices as high as a good 8- ounce cuppa joe, one wonders what the world could do without.  I am thinking come morning, Gas would be a distant memory for many addicted coffee drinkers who don't think twice laying out $8.00 for a cup of get up and go juice to get their motors running before turning that key in the ignition.

Jennifer Sygo examines the latest coffee findings:

Last week’s news that regular consumption of coffee can reduce the risk of heart disease may have caught you by surprise. The notion that coffee could actually be good for you probably seems too good to be true if you’re a card-carrying member of the Tim’s or Starbucks nation. But what did this study really reveal, and what does it mean for java and non-java lovers alike? Let’s take a closer look.

The study  The study, which involved over 40,000 men and over 85,000 women from the Health Professionals Follow-up Study and the Nurses’ Health Study, respectively, examined coffee consumption from the early 1980s, and compared it to death rates since then. At the start of the study, none of the subjects had a history of heart disease or cancer, but nearly 7,000 of the men, and over 11,000 of the women died of various causes, heart disease and cancer included, over the duration of the study.

Barry Artiste,

If coffee prices rose the way gas prices have been rising, I'd most likely start growing my own coffee in my backyard in hopes of trading the beans for gas.

I like this story. It's good stuff.

Thanks to you both, since we need both to get our cars and bodies motors running, I would have to choose coffee.

Barry Artiste, I like this story. It's good stuff. If the price of gasoline goes up to $6.00 a gallon I will definitely take the public transportation. But if the price of coffee doubled I will sort  to half a cup. Can't live without them.:)

Thanks EC, for the comments, gas is $6.00 a gallon here in Canada and Starbuck  Lattes are near $8.00 a cup, good thing I don't do Starbucks and I live close to the Good Ole US of A to get myself some of that $4 buck a gallon gas. Now that is sick that I am thrilled to pay $4.00 a gallon for anything.

I would choose coffee, although I have yet to pay $8 for one cup! If it was that much, I might be more tempted to give it up...
