NP Rank:
Gay Men = Straight Women & Lesbians = Straight Men
According to a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences gay men are girly and lesbians are manly. Well, this is the case until they do further research anyways.
Gay men and straight women share some characteristics in the area of the brain responsible for emotion, mood and anxiety, researchers said on Monday in a study highlighting the potential biological underpinning of sexuality.
Brain scans also showed the same symmetry among lesbians and straight men, the researchers wrote in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
"The observations cannot be easily attributed to perception or behavior," the researchers from Sweden's Karolinska Institute wrote. "Whether they may relate to processes laid down during the fetal or postnatal development is an open question."

Thanks for posting this research, BigT. I contributed a related article yesterday titled, "Big-Brother Effect" or Biological Error? that you might find interesting. The story can be viewed here http://www.nowpublic.com/world/big-brother-effect-or-biological-error

P.S. Gay men do not equal straight women and lesbians do not equal straight men -- research is claiming similarities only:)!

thx rhonda for ur comment.
when my parents found out i was gay, they thought i thought of myself as a woman, which indicated their sexual fundamentalist stereotypical thinking (i.e. if u r man u like woman, if u like man u r man, etc).
when researchers nowadays r still driven by such fundamentalistism perspectives (might it be in the sexaul paradigm or the religious paradigm or racial paradigm), and that's when the researh designs and data could be very inaccurate or misinterpreted or faulty presented.

You are very welcome, justin604! I also agree that research design and data could be inaccurate or falsely presented. I also think that socially constructed bias', among other matters, are brought to the table. If you haven't already, you may want to click on the link in my first comment to BigT - you might find the 'research' interesting. Take care!
