Girl's death after 999 sat-nav blunder

A young woman died after a broken sat-nav caused an ambulance driver to get lost while taking her to hospital.

Kay Gadsby was driven along a narrow country lane instead of a quicker main road.

The sat-nav unit then packed up completely and the driver – who was not from the area – took another wrong turn and got lost.

This is a poor case. I would have thought that ambulance driver should know the road well. Not very well, but at least they should know the road back to the hospital instead of depending on sat nav.
