Allergic to wheat products or looking for new flavors, Sorghum and Honey beers come to the rescue.
In one of these circuitous way, I got to this topic via 'Africa's new thirst for a local brew' (FT) which looks at sorghum use in African brews going back many many years.
That must be why some some call sorghum brews, the African Opaque Beer
Here in the US, the pioneer seems to be New Grist by Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee.

I tried an apricot wheat beer the other day, brewed in Canada. It was delicious!
