Fox News Channel reported yesterday that “Boston’s Children’s Hospital bills itself as the hospital for children — and now it’s also the hospital for children who want a sex change, a procedure some critics are calling ‘barbaric.’”
The news about the Boston hospital prompted me to wonder whether or not the highly-rated Children’s Hospital of St. Louis had allowed any of its doctors to perform “sex change” or “gender reassignment” procedures on minors. So I contacted the media relations folks at the hospital and asked them to confirm or deny whether such procedures had been performed in the Gateway City.
Within 24 hours, I received a response from Jackie Ferman-Grothe, a senior media relations specialist at the St. Louis facility. Via e-mail, she wrote: “I was able to confirm last night that we have never done a gender reassignment procedure.”
That, my friends, is good news.
