Hardcore Energize Bullet and New Whey liquid protein products are the subject of a tampering recall after razor blades were found in vials of two varieties of one shot enegry drinks.  Consumers in the US and Canada have been warned that the energy drinks may have been tampered with, and a recall notice has been issued in both countries.

Hardcore Energize Bullet is manufactured by Protica Inc., of Whitehall, Pennsylvania, and sold in Canada as one shot vials; in Canada this is the only product subject to the tampering recall.  In the US, the FDA has issued notice about two Protica Inc products, Hardcore Energize Bullet and New Whey liquid protein recalls after utility blades were found in both products.

Health Canada issued a warning about Hardcore Energize Bullet liquid energy drink, which is manufactured in Pennsylvania and sold in Canada in vials.

The reason for the recall was because one vial was found to have been subject to tampering, Health Canada said.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, meanwhile, is also warning about Hardcore Energize Bullet, and about New Whey liquid products, as well. New Whey items are also sold in test-tube vials and consumed in a single shot.

A utility knife blade was found in one vial of each product, the FDA said.

No injuries have been reported, the U.S. agency said.

This is disturbing. I would hate to find a razor in a drink!
