Health Canada Expands Recall of Infant Teethers

Health Canada has expanded the recall of infant teethers, adding another three brands to the recall list.  This latest group adds up to about 14 000 infant teethers that contain bacteria in the fluid encased by the teethers.  The previous recall encompassed over 100 000 infant teethers sold in Canada.
While the latest recall by Health Canada of infant teethers is because of live bacteria in the fluid, Health Canada points out that all the various strains of bacteria are normally harmless.  If a child does have a depressed immune system these bacteria can cause various symptoms.

1.  Rexall Water Teethers:  description follows

Fix:  take teether away and contact nearest Rexall Product vendor for a full refund.

2.  Water Teether by Wintech  Description follows:

Hazard:  bacteria in the fluid inside the teether
Number sold in Canada:  approximately 800
Fix: take teether away from child and return it to the store where you bought it.

3.  Cosmic Teether by Manhattan Toy  Description follows:

Hazard:  bacteria are present in the fluid inside the teether.
Fix:  Take teether away from child.
