Health Canada has issuedtee recall alerts for another 20 000 bacterial filled teethers.  All the recalled teethers have a liquid core.  It has been found that the liquid contains an assortment of bacteria.  Normally, the bacteria would not cause a problem if injested, however for an infant that has a challenged immune system, they could cause illness.  Canadian regulations require that the fluid filling the soothers be free of live organisms.  Previously, about 14 000 teethers were recalled in Canada due to live bacteria in the fluid.
