Health Canada Recalls Thousands of Infant Teethers

Health Canada has issued a recall notice for three types of infant teethers due to bacterial contamination.  Regulations in Canada require that any liquid fillers in teethers be free of live organisms.  The bacteria found in the following teethers does not usually cause illness, but in the case of babies with weakened immune systems, they may cause problems.
Recalled Teethers:

  1. Noah's Ark Toothy Teethers by Playgro.  About 7 000 sold in Canada.  Manufactured in China.
  2. Nuby Fun Pal Animal Teether by Luv n'Care. About 25 000 sold in Canada.  Manufactured in Columbia
  3. Nuby Icy Bite Teether by Luv N'Care.  About 100 000 sold in Canada. Manufactured in Columbia

Corrective Action
Consumers should immediately take the recalled teethers away from children.

Consumers should keep the recalled teethers until they have read the instructions on how to obtain a $10 credit certificate from Elfe Juvenile Products at the following web addresses:
