Lauren Johnson looks like a girl 12 years in general, except that he could not stop sneezing. She sneezes more than 20 times a minute, or 12,000 times a day. Sneezing non-stop that began two weeks ago when Lauren from Virginia, United States (U.S.), with the flu. When free sneeze only when he slept.
His condition was puzzling the doctors. During the five-minute interview on the Today Show in the U.S., Lauren sneeze a hundred times, the conversation interrupted every few seconds.
12-year-old girl nicknamed "Gesundheit Girl" (Gesundheit is a German language expression to indicate the expectation of good health for people who sneeze out) says, "I can not stop. I think not for this, but it's been two weeks." He said he was not sick, but just not comfortable.
Lauren and her mother Lynn Johnson perform at the Today Show in an effort to find people who might be able to treat the sneezing that does not stop it. An expert was sure he had suffered a syndrome known as a sneeze machine gun (machine gun Sneezing), in which the victims sneezing constantly.
Lauren told the Today Show that he felt "miserable". "It's been going on for two weeks. I still see my friends, but I can not go to school," he said as quoted Dailymail, Thursday (12/11).
Her mother, Lynn Johnson, the last two weeks came to a number of doctors to diagnose and treat his daughter, and now in television to attempt and find someone who can treat or specialists who can help. They, so far, has tried 11 different medications.
"Life for him had stopped. Every person confused. No one knows how to deal with this," Johnson said. They have tried hypnosis, but it did not work either. Lauren is also looking for a therapist, who knows the psychological factors trigger physical reactions.
Lauren told the local news site, "The hardest part of this sneeze is not school and when people stare in amazement."

This story has the signs of PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections) or its PITANDS variant (triggered by microbs other than strep) that invariably manifests in the symptoms of tics, OCD, among a range of other physical/behavioral problems. With the media attention on the issue, hopefully this can bring awareness to many parents whose children are afflicted with similar symptoms. Above all, hopefully this would help to educate and change the hearts and minds of those in the medical profession who still have doubts about this delibitating condition. Suggest to take a throat culture for sign of active strep (throat culture is more accurate than the rapid strep test) . Also a blood work to test for recent strep infection (ASO titer) if no active strep is present. Once an infection is confirmed, consult with Dr. for immediate antibiotic treatment, the soon the better. Residual and lingering symptoms need to be consulted with behavioral therapists, immunologists/infectious disease, neurologist, and pediatrician. Government site on PANDAS intramural.nimh.nih.gov/pdn/web.htm A good summary on PANDAS cpementalhealth.com/content/4/1/13 Forum discussion on PANDAS www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=17 Grass roots website from parents of PANDAS children, most of whom frequent www.latitudes.org forum www.pandasnetwork.org/ Chicago based clinic with extensive experience on treating PANDAS. Also a wealth of information. www.webpediatrics.com/
