Heroine Manchu supports gays: Attacks Minister
Hyderabad: Heroine and TV anchor Manchu Lakshmi came down heavily on the Indian Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for calling gay sex as a disease. In her Twitter post, she called the minister ignorant. She has called upon the fellow human beings to be considerate to the homosexuals and ignore the minister.
Azad has recently said that sex between males was a disease and the society has to be cautious about it. When the civil society rose against him for his remarks, he has expressed sorry for hurting the sentiments of a section of the society.
Marathi playwright Pramod Kale reacting to Azad’s statement that homosexuality was imported from the west, said, “Hasn’t Mr Azad visited Khajuraho famous for erotic sculptures? Sculptors have depicted all aspects of life and being greatly influenced by the Tantric school of thought the society of the time believed in dealing frankly and openly with matters related to sex be it bisexual or homosexual. Are we such hypocrites that now the health minister has to say homosexuality was imported from the west?”
