Hillandale Farms in Iowa Recall Eggs: Connected to Wright County
Hillandale Farms in Iowa is Recalling Eggs Due to Salmonella Poisoning: FDA States the Recall is Related to the Wright County Egg Recall
It has not been released how many eggs from Hillandale Farms are being recalled and although the company would not say if this recall is related to the larger recall from Wright County Eggs, the FDA has stated the two are related.
The Hillandale Farm eggs have said sickened over 1,000 people so far, with over 2,000 people falling ill from the Wright County Eggs.
An FDA spokeswoman said the two recalls were related. The strain of salmonella poisoning is the same strain linked to Wright County Egg in Iowa, which is already facing two lawsuits tied to tainted eggs.
The eggs from Hillandale Farms were sold under the following brand names:
- Hillandale Farms
- Sunny Farms
- Sunny Meadow
- Wholesome Farms
- West Creek
The eggs from Wright County Egg that have been recalled were sold under the following brand names:
- Mountain Dairy
- Farm Fresh
- Dutch Farms
The eggs affected by this recall have the following plant numbers and Julian dates:
- P1860 - Julian dates from 099 to 230
- P1663 - Julian dates from 137 to 230
If you have one of these eggs, return them to the store where you purchased them for a refund and do not eat them.
