May 1st ,2009 Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald TSANG announced first H1N1 case in the city. A 25 year old Mexican arrived Hong Kong yesterday after the China Eastern flight stop over in Shanghai. He felt sick and went to Ruttonjee Hospital for testing. His case were later confirmed by University of Hong Kong laboratory. The hotel where the Mexican stay, Metropark Hotel in Wanchai district was immediately been sealed off. Hotel guests were not permitted to enter or leave the hotel. 300 Hotel guests are requested to remain inside hotel to quarantine for 7 days.

However, 7 hotel guest refused to be quarantine at Metropark Hotel, Health authority send them to Lady MacLehose Holiday Village. A holiday village been prepared by Hong Kong government to quarantine H1N1 patient. 

Hong Kong government are now searching for the passengers that were traveling on the same China Eastern flight MU505 as the Mexican. The flight arrive Hong Kong on April 30th at 12:49pm.

I just read something about this. Must be really scary for the guests in the hotel. I think they are quarantined for a week or so?

April Mon thank you for this. Looks like this is being taken seriously by the Health authorities.  I like your picture with the dog?  I have an Alaskan Malamute that looks similar?

Thanks for the report about spreading swine flu.  At first when I saw H1N1, I thought the bio-labs had lost more virus.
