How ultrasound can help to 'break the breed barrier'
The field of veterinary research can be challenging for a number of reasons. These include a lack of in-depth knowledge pertaining to certain medical conditions (and their symptoms and treatment), especially when compared to similar conditions in humans. Moreover, the great variety of breeds that exist within each species must be taken into consideration. If we take our canine friends as an example here, the difference between breeds can be significant - after all, a Chihuahua is very different from a Doberman!
Ultrasound is one technique that has been shown to have the ability to bypass the breed barrier, and this is discussed further in articles that can be viewed here. This makes veterinary ultrasound imaging an invaluable technique for those working with the veterinary species. The numerous uses for ultrasonography are discussed in a series of articles and can be accessed by clicking here.
