NP Rank:
I have a cold
I got it from my wife.
She was standing on the subway when an inconsiderate person turned toward her and sneezed a big one in her face. She knew at that instant that she was infected. She immediately deployed anti-cold spray into her mouth and nose to ward it off. By lunchtime the next day she had shivers and temperature outside was in the 80’s.
She came home that night sounding horse. I avoided direct contact as much as possible, though provided needed care that included going to the pharmacy to pick up more medication and throat lozenges.
“Get the Ricola brand, and select something lemony,” she requested in a groggy froggy way.
When I got to the pharmacy, I realized that Ricola produces many different flavors and that packaging is all very similar. Lemon usually means that the package will be yellow, right?
Well, there is a wall of yellow packaged Ricola products so I had to zero in.
On my first trip, I found Ricola Lemon Mint. There was no Ricola Lemon on the rack, just lemon mint. So, I bought it.
Then, I made presentation from the drug trip and she exclaimed, “Lemon mint, yuck!”
I tried to explain that when you send a man into the world to get something specific, the instructions have to be precise and if there are choices to be made, there must be more criteria.
“Yuck!”
She said, “Herbal.” OK, so back I went.
On the rack there is “Honey herb.” That sounds herbal to me. I bought it, took it home and made a second presentation.
“Honey herb, no, just herb,” she murmured.
I explained the wall of yellow Ricola and the packaging that all appears the same. “Just herb,” she muttered again in a groggy froggy way.
It’s me again, I acknowledge my pharmacist who knows me well. She has a cold, I offered and wants herb cough drops.
“Get,” that’s my pharmacist at RiteAid said, “Surely, right over here.” He handed to me the “Ricola Natural Herb Cough Drops.”
That should do it. I hope they don’t have unnatural herb cough drops or I will be back.
“Is it a cold or the flu?
Colds and flu are both highly contagious and, in the initial stages, a bad cold and a mild case of the flu might seem alike. However, flu is a serious illness that can have life-threatening complications.”
