IKEA recalls Roller Blinds, Roman Blinds, Roll-Up Blinds

IKEA is adding to a previous blinds recall, and is recalling an additional 3 million Roller, Roman and Roll-Up blinds sold between January 1998 and June 2009. The recall is due to the risk of strangulation by unsecured cords. The big-box furniture store is also joining the push to recall all Roman blinds, regardless of manufacturer.

They call them the Dutch style Van der Sloots.

The actual recall states that they only cause strangulation if they're installed incorrectly. Don't most things cause problems if they're installed incorrectly? This seems stupid and panicky.

Anytime a child dies I don't consider it stupid and if it takes panic to save another child from death or harm then panic away.
