New Delhi: Indian Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has condemned gay sex – men having sex with men (MSMS) as not only unnatural, but also a ‘disease.’

He made this comment on Monday, when the Indian capital was observing second anniversary of celebrations of the decriminalization of homosexuality. According to the ‘Times of India,’ Azad said the disease of homosexuality has come from foreign shores and Indian society needs to be prepared to face it. He has expressed concern that “unfortunately” the number of such people was increasing.

Azad was addressing a conference of district heads and Mayors on HIV/AIDS. “The disease of MSM is unnatural and not good for the Indian society. It’s challenge to identify such people. In case of female sex workers, we can identify the community and each out to them since they live inclusters. But in the case of MSMs, it isn’t always possible,” he said.
