Hundreds of thousands of inflatable baby floats have been recalled in Canada because of they pose a drowning hazard.

Description:

This recall involves inflatable baby floats that were sold in a variety of styles, model numbers, and colours.

A date between "08/02" and "07/08" is moulded on the valves of recalled products. Products not included in the recall can be identified with the lettering "NP" moulded on the valve.

Hazard:  leg straps in the seat of the float can tear, allowing the child to fall into the water and drown.   To date no reports of injuries or deaths have been received.
Fix: Stop using the float and contact Aqua-Leisure for a full refund.

This is so sad. You'd think they'd take extra precautions to make a safety product, you know, safe.
