Relationships in Tinseltown tend to go South more often than not, and Jesse James and Kat Von D are no longer together.

The “Monster Garage” guy and the “LA Ink” gal have called off their engagement, though they haven’t exactly said why.

Kat took to her Twitter page last night to share the news, writing, "I am no longer w Jesse, and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I'd like to share. Thanks for respecting that."

Earlier this month the tattoo artist/reality star appeared in a promo for her new show on TLC, where she can be heard gushing about her then-fiance. "I feel like I'm the luckiest girl," Says von D. "I don't care what anybody thinks."

News of the break up comes just two days before the premiere of L.A. Ink's new season.

Just last month, Kat Von D and Jesse James adamantly shot down a rumor alleging their relationship was on the rocks.

The 42-year-old Choppers CEO told press, “That is absolutely not true," adding, "We’re still going strong. Things are completely good with us.”

And Kat corroborated James’ statements, responding “That’s the furthest thing from the truth,” when asked if they were splitting up.

The two were reportedly looking forward to getting married this summer on the one year anniversary of the day they began dating. James shared, “That day can’t come soon enough! Everything is on track. I am absolutely more in love today than I was a year ago. She's the one for me."

Engaged since January, Kat von D and Jesse James first stepped out as a couple in August of 2010.

This would have been the second marriage for Kat and the fourth for James, whose exes include Karla James, porn actress Janine Lindemulder and Sandra Bullock.
