The CFIA has issued three alerts in the past few days, warning consumers in Ontario and Quebec about a large Listeria recall.  As people are stocking up with cold cuts and various other meat products for the holidays, the hospitality may deliver an unpleasant surprise to guests.  Listeria is a nasty bacterium that can kill.  Routinely, pregnant women are advised to avoid cold cuts, but others might be vulnerable to the Listeria bacterium.  Symptoms of Listeria poisoning range from mild discomfort to death.
