NP Rank:
Lead Poison For Our Kids
The Healthy Canadians web site is starting to read like a horror story. Today a new list of possibly fatal products for children were posted. People have been calling for much closer scrutiny of imported products for some time now. The majority of dangerous products
recalled have been produced in China and today's list kept them at the top of this nasty list. Particularly worrisome is the inclusion again and again of products aimed at children that contain unacceptable levels of lead.
Product Country of Origin
- My Baby brand pacifiers Thailand
- magnets play Billings, Montana
- Super Dooper Charms China
- Shoelace Charms China
- CTG Kool Charms China
- Mini Hockey Stick China
- Make-It Special Pewter Embellishments China
The dangers of lead to growing brains has been well documented for many years. Exposure at any level is harmful. The Make-It Special Pewter Embellishments are especially worrisome because if a child swallows one, it contains enough lead to be fatal.
Our inspection services need to step up surveillance of imported goods from Asia. Countries who continue to send us poisonous products for our children should be labelled criminals states.

Barbara McPherson, I like this story. It's good stuff. You will be pleased to know one of the biggest toy manufactuerers in China closed down for good because of the global economy, laying off immediately 7,000 workers.
IMO Perhaps when world lead prices have stabilized, they may reopen, What? Too Soon?!!
