LG Electronics Recalls Defective Dehumidifiers

LG Electronics in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada is voluntarily recalling a line of portable dehumindifiers.  They pose an electrical hazard.
Description:  The affected LG dehumidifiers are 30 pint portable units, white with a red shut-off button.  They are marked Goldstar or Comfort-Aire.  Model and serial numbers of those affected follows.

The affected LG dehumidifiers were sold in the U.S. and Canada at The Home Depot, Walmart and Heat Controller Inc.
Hazard:  The power connection for the units compressor can short circuit posing a fire and injury hazard.  LG has received complaints ranging from arcing to significant structure damage
Fix: Do not use the LG dehumidifier until you know if it is one of the recalled ones.  You can contact LG at 877 220 0479

Barbara: HA! Everything of an electrical nature poses an electrical hazard! Some things are more risky than others however! I guess that this guy just got nipped in the bud.
