As a diabetic, insulin is what keeps me living healthily. I use an insulin pump to keep me on a regulated dosage that maintains my blood sugar level. The perks of having an insulin pump is that, contrary to popular belief, I can eat whatever I want just as long as I take the insulin for it.
The insulin in my pump is in a vial connected to a tubing that connects to a site on my body where a very, very tiny plastic tube directs the insulin into me.
Unfortunately, this morning I changed that site and accidentally bent that tiny tube, which made it impossible to receive the insulin I needed.
I was gone all day doing a film job and had no way of correcting this problem. My blood sugar shot up and up and never let up. I started turning pale and eventually threw up three times.
When I finally got home, I went back to my old ways and took the insulin with a syringe, which ultimately fixed me right up.
