Listeria May Contaminate Imitation Cream Cheese
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency(CFIA) has issued a health hazard alert for possible contamination with the Listeria bacterium. Listeriosis can cause serious illness, or in the case of pregnant women adversely affect the unborn.
OTTAWA, December 12, 2008 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Cambrooke Foods are warning the public not to consume certain CamBrooke Foods brand imitation cream cheese and Peanot ButterTM spreads because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
All codes of the following CamBrooke Foods brand products are affected by this alert:
