The CFIA has issued a Listeria warning for sliced meat products and cucumber salad sold at Chez Gautier delis in Montreal. Description follows.

Listeria monocytogenes may be present in food without imparting an 'off' flavour or smell.  Listeria bacteria may cause no illness or only a mild foodborne illness.  But Listeria contamination may cause severe illness in some individuals leading to death in rare cases.  Pregnant women are especially vulnerable to Listeria.  Their unborn baby may suffer Listeria infection or even die from the foodborne illness.
If you have purchased deli products from Chez Gautier that fit the above description, do not consume it.  Return it to the deli.
