Medical errors kill 24,000 annually: Report?
/* some css fixes for IE browsers */ html {overflow-y:hidden;} body {overflow-y:auto;} #bg {position:absolute; z-index:-1;} #content {position:static;}As many as 24,000 people die each year from in-hospital adverse events like surgical errors, wrong medication and hospital-acquired infections, according to statistics from the Canadian Institute for Health Information.
By CanWest News Service March 29, 2007
Up to 90% of errors are not recorded, including incorrect drug doses, hospital acquired infections, misdiagnoses and prescribing wrong medicines leading to disability and death.
First know that the government and especially the medical profession is notorious for telling lies with a blatant tendency to downplay by omission all which they perceive as not in the public interest to know. Extrapolating the 2007 figures again, based on the 90% omission, how many Canadians a year would you now say fell prey to medical blunders??? And since that report was published in 2007, how many more Canadians would you now venture say were killed by their doctor since that time? You might even try breaking it down into different catagories like BOTCHED SURGERIES, HOMICIDE, NEGLIGENCE, or even MEDICAL STUPIDITY.
