my friendly samsung BLAST died this weekend, and since i hadn't purchased a warrantee through t-mobile, i figured i'd just go get the cheapest replacement possible, and wait til the googlephone comes out (supposedly within the next couple months, fingers crossed).
t-mobile told me to go to target, since buying from them would screw up my discount timeline. so we went, and the kid in electronics let us in on a secret: prepaid phones will accept a sim card and work just like a regular phone. which is awesome, since this one was $29.99, and the cheapest list price for a regular phone is at least a hundred bucks.
i discovered on the way home that my new crappy phone has a FLASHLIGHT.
and then t-mobile told me i actually have 2 weeks left on the manufacturer's warrantee on the blast, so they're sending me a new one. i'll just hold onto this ghettophone as a backup in case it happens again. or maybe just bring it camping to use the flashlight.
SCORE.
