Pipes in homes contain unhealthy amounts of lead to drink, hot more likely than cold water. It is widely believed that boiling water removes the lead. Scientists warn it is quite the contrary, it increases its concentration.
Older homes are more likely to have lead pipes.
Lead can damage the brain and nervous system.

I wasn't sure what was newsworthy in this story; the lead danger has been documented for at least 25 years.

Hi Jordan. True, it's nothing new but how many are still using hot water, especially for cooking purposes? Many.
