Ah there is news on green tea and I am personally very excited to hear it, as I  drink a lot of it, and not because it's good for me, because frankly speaking, all that goodness doesn't even make it to where it's needed by our bodies or so said researchers. I drink it b/c I love the taste (though low & behold oddly enough there are times when I feel it tastes like fish, oh yes, fish you ask, :) oh yes exactly that... fish yuck eh?

SoOooo  I think the recent news on how to improve green teas goodness is excellent news for me, now why didn't I think of it, I mean it works marvellously for me when I have fish:  I simply add lemon to cut the umm fishy ~ ness if you will so next time it's lemon or orange for me.

"Green Tea Booster

Catechins -- the antioxidants in green tea famous for lowering your risk of chronic disease -- quickly lose their power in your intestine. In fact, as much as 80% of the catechins in green tea are never absorbed. The solution to boosting absorption, researchers recently found, is as simple as flavoring your tea with freshly squeezed and strained lemon, orange, lime, or grapefruit juice."

I read about ten years ago when green tea was suppose to be the cure for everything that ails you that in order for it to have the health results advertised you would have to drink several gallons of it a day.  If you like green tea, drink it for pleasure but not for medicinal purposes.  A multi vitamin daily will do you much more good. But only if you remember to take it : (

I do & always have both black and green tea  for pleasure, for that matter most everthing I ingest is for the taste.

However  it does seem that adding a little citrus of choice improves the benefits of green tea ( just as adding milk to black tea diminishes all touted benefits ) which is what this story is really about.

And just how lovely in my opinion, that it also improves it's flavour, although I must admit I do not always add lemon ( my choice of citrus  so far yet I bet orange would be yummy too), to my Golden Dragon Choicest Tea (purchased at a Asian market) it's youngrolled leaves green tea which is my favourite green tea by far.

At times a purist, I want only the taste of a great cup of green tea.

A multi- vitamin is good, sure not any help if we forget to take them, :) and perhaps along with some additional calcium. mag and D however that's a different story.

Thank you for your comment a211423, I do appreciate it.
