Being Portuguese, I come from a society in which having coffee is a habit. Everyone[*] has at least one espresso after lunch. Most people two a day, and a fewer number reach extremes extremes of eight espressos. It starts out as a social habit and grows to the only way to stay awake while working or socialising.
Living in England now, I must refer that English tea is also a abundant source of caffeine, even though not everyone around here seems to be aware of that.
