Self portrait taken of my eye with a Nikon 990 3.34mp camera. The Nikon has a swivel head so you can point the lens back at yourself and see what you are composing on the LCD. However, for this shot in macro mode the lens was only about 3/4" from my eye and I couldn't see the LCD screen so it was by trial and error that I got this shot. The first time I loaded it onto my computer and saw it bigger than life on my computer monitor I was in awe. Alot of us stare into the mirror and look at our own eyes but I don't think we realize how much beautiful detail and texture we have until we see it magnified in detail. Now I am curious to explore other peoples eyes and rich detail. It reminds me of looking through a kalidescope- all the patterns and different shapes of our unique and precious windows to the world we live in.

Update: 7/24/06
I have been honored by all the people who have left messages about 'My Eye'. I hope I have inspired others to recreate the results I achieved for themselves. I traded the original Nikon camera that was used for this pix for a Minolta Dimage, 5.6mp and then a Nikon P3, 8.1mp. Neither of those was able to capture the detail and duplicate the results of the original, no matter how hard I tried. I hope to find a camera and macro lens combo, or other means, to duplicate or exceed the orignial results. Any suggestions?
