So, when Shaggy said, "It wasn't me", perhaps he meant: "It's genetic, baby- beyond my control". Indeed, a recent study conducted in Sweden shows correlation between genetic makeup and infidelity.
The gene variant, which is present in four of 10 Swedish men, can explain why some men are more prone to stormy relationships and bond less to their wives or girlfriends, a team of researchers at Stockholm's Karolinska Institute said.
"There are, of course, many reasons why a person might have relationship problems, but this is the first time that a specific gene variant has been associated with how men bond to their partners," Hasse Walum, one of the researchers, said in a statement.

Jordan, this one is too good to pass up. Someone will plead this genetic case.

I wonder if the researchers have looked for this genetic variant in women, as well. Or is it Y chromosome specific? Interesting topic, regardless.

Humans are animals with the ability to reason (the ability... not necessarily the desire). Our more animal instincts are constantly at war with our human and social desires. I think this only adds more scientific weight to the evolution vs. divine creation debate; we don't need MORE excuses, maybe just some more strength of will when it comes to admitting to dalliance.
