It was the beginning of 2013 and I had just started training with my new coach, Josh Leo. This was the first time I was using the help of a trainer for my muscle building goals. He started talking about getting me into a fitness competition, but I just laughed at the idea – me on stage in a bikini? But then I started thinking, why not? After all, I had come this far.
Along came Superbowl Sunday, and while everyone else was munching on chicken wings, nachos, and beer, I was working even harder towards my new goals. I began weight training three days a week, circuit training two times a week, and cardio twice a day every day.
