As a kid, i tried several times to make a functioning cloud chamber. You need five things: a radium tipped 'needle' (usually glass), a jar, some alcohol, some dry ice, and a Lot of patience. Perhaps i didn't use the right kind of alcohol .. Or perhaps my needle was 'deactivated' (trying to understand how a radioactive isotope, as a kid, could be 'deactivated' (as it was roughly explained to me) - is like trying to understand Godel's theorem.;) Perhaps they sold me a bum needle. :( Anyways, i never saw a trail no matter how good i got the fog/cloud .. This essay and next i'll attach eight images and four brief movies which will hopefully illustrate some ideas i've been trying to explain. The surface of the water in the tank represents spacetime. The stream of water falling represents - i don't know - ask God. ;) Perhaps somehow adding energy to spacetime. Or perhaps a jet of spacetime into flat spacetime. i'm not an expert at continuum mechanics .. Next, the hard-to-see droplets of water on the surface represent matter particles (because the simplest model of e.p.s i can derive is: matter is little bits of 'frozen time' with a boundary where charge likely resides). The bubbles represent anti-matter. The idea anti-matter is a 'phase change' of ordinary spacetime is an interesting idea - but not one i'm really proposing here. The bubbles simply represent anti-matter with opposite curvature as the water droplets. So.. Even one image looks like trails in a cloud chamber! (Try to find it.) .. As i observed the phenomenon while 'relaxing', i noticed that droplets came in several sizes (not seemingly infinite variety of sizes), so the idea that elasticity may have modes (even though it's intensely repulsive to me) may still be a possibility. Elastic modes may cause various particle schemes. At this point (reflecting on social reception of the ideas), i almost don't care.. i'm posting these two essays simply so people can visualize the concepts i've been talking about.. There's two critical concepts core to the model: elastic spacetime (with heavy emphasis on time) and charged anti-photon density. Without both, the model cannot work. True, we could revert back to a Lazar-ian equivalent scenario which omits his work on Higgs and dependency on virtual bosons. But the simplicity and elegance of this model appeals to me - no end. (And besides, if we returned to spacelet+TR, we'd still have to explain the substance of flux.) So for right now, i'm putting all my money (meager funds they may be), reputation (non-existent as it may be), and throw in say Noohin (the best dog i've ever known) - wagering on: charged anti-photons mediating electromagnetism and temporal curvature mediating the rest. ^^ Anyone wanna bet? ;)
