Pier 1 Imports Recalls Candles: Fire Hazard

Pier 1 Imports, Health Canada and the United States are cooperating in the recall of candles because they pose a fire hazard. These candles were sold to coincide with the holiday season. Two categories of candles have been recalled.
First Category:
This recall involves two styles of tea lights by Pier 1 Imports. The silver glitter tea lights come in a clear box of 24 and can be identified by SKU 2410335. The gold glitter tea lights come in a clear box of 24 and can be identified by SKU 2410322. The SKU number for both styles is located on the bottom of the packaging.
Hazard: flame from the tea lights can ignite the glitter on the candle. Pier 1 in the U.S. has received three reports of this happening. Two of the incidents were in Canada
Fix: do not use the glitter candle and return them to Pier 1 Imports for a full refund. You may also phone Pier 1 Imports at 1 800 245-4595

Second Category :
This recall involves the Ceramic Santa Tea Light Holder, which is designed in the image of Santa Claus. The red and white tea light holder is approximately 19 cm (7-1/2 inches) tall and 9 cm (3-1/2 inches) wide. It has a red metal hat and an opening in the back where a tea light candle can be placed.
The recalled product can be identified by SKU 2417274, which is printed on the bottom of the tea light holder.
Hazard: the flame from the candle can ignite the candle holder, starting a fire. No reported incidents have been received regarding these candles to date.
Fix: return the candle holder to Pier 1 Imports store and get a full refund. The Pier 1 Imports contact number is 1 800 245 4595.
