"Pink Toys Damage Girls" Emma Moore Pinkstinks Urges ELC Boycott
Pinkstinks is a campaign set up in the UK against the marketing of pink toys to girls. The founder of the campaign Emma Moore believes that the rows and rows of pink toys, clothes and other items aimed at girls encourage an obsession with body image and lead to the unequal pay and lower status that women in general have compared to men.
Pinkstinks is encouraging customers to boycott the Early Learning Centre chain of toy shops as they feel they are hypocritical in claiming that their toys help children explore boundaries of imagination and creativity whilst heavily marketing stereotypical pink toys for girls.

"Why on earth do girls need to have a globe in pink?" said Mr Mayo. "Does it ultimately lead to the 15 per cent pay gap suffered by women further down the line?. That's far too simplistic, but I feel gender roles are becoming polarised far too early on."

Toys for boys, no lack. Really nice or fun clothes for boys, sadly bad.
Toys for girls, all pink? Just as bad as all clothes and bedroom sets for girls, all pink= a lack of choice and style, conformity.
Personally my doll clothes and favorite bedroom colors were blue when I was still a girl.
uh.... no burkha barbies, bloggie.

Pink has been shown to be a calming colour. Maybe this is a vast conspiracy to tranquilize girls the world over!

I much prefer that my girls have pink items (which by the way the like).. than all of the sexualized items I see today for young girls.
