Many years ago, when I was going to college and did not have health insurance, I relied on the services of Planned Parenthood. Since I was "financially challenged" at the time and they gave services based on one's income, I was lucky to get a free exam and pap smear.

The smear showed precancerous atypical cells.  I was then referred to a doctor for cryosurgery, which essentially saved my life.

The House has approved a Republican proposal to stop funding for Planned Parenthood, which offers an array of services for women and also men, not just abortions.

If federal funding is discontinued for Planned Parenthood, women are going to die.

I have my life because of the free cervical exam I received from Planned Parenthood. They also offer sexually transmitted disease tests for men and women. Without these free tests, our country may see an increase in HIV and other STDs.

And they offer free contraception or low cost, depending on your income.

GOP Republican Mike Pence is behind this horrific legislation.

Write to your legislators in Washington. Call them.

Don't let the Republicans be responsible for the deaths of poor women in this country and the further spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Planned Parenthood is NOT all about abortion.

Women need to protest this legislation.

One day the poor in the USA may rise up as they have risen in Egypt and fight against unjust and unfair legislation which affects the health and welfare of the public.

The US have a democratic system and could do it, but they do not demand changes.

This is NOT an OPINION. It's a fact and whoever marked it as an opinion, needs to take a second look. Thanks, Uwe...I knew you would understand.
