Protest of the Church of Scientology at Manchester 12th September

Last Saturday the 12/09/09 was Scientology protest day in Manchester. The weather was warm and sunny as were the 14 protestors who attended this months protest. Over 500 leaflets were distributed outside the front door of the Scientology Headquarters based at 258-260 Deansgate, Manchester.
The protestor known as SUPERSTARNEILC on the WHYWEPROTEST website, held up signs to show his solidarity with SUZ1948, who is "disconnected" from her daughter MANDY. SUZ1948 also known as BRITISH MOM on the EX-SCIENTOLOGY website changed her mind about Scientology and how the organisation was run after many years of dedicated and loyal service to the group, but on doing so was banished from having any further contact with her daughter MANDY who remains in the grasp of the "cult".
The reasons why the protestors show up month after month, vary and are as many, as the number of wives and children of the late and "colourful" L.Ron Hubbard. "Because its a money making cult" says one protester, "Because they remove families from each other" says an attractive young woman, "Because of this" as the protestor points at the XENU leaflet; "Because the women at reception swore at me" says the man in the green t-shirt, "I don't like people spreading misinformation about mental health issues. I don't like people abusing other people." says the good mannered young man.
The next protest is scheduled for Saturday 10th October at 11 a.m.

I believe BritMum recently flew to America to see/speak with her daughter Mandy and was prevented from doing so by scientology handlers. Mum remains steadfast in her determination to reconnect with her daughter.Now there is the power of a Mother's unconditional love...and for more evidence of parental caring in the face of scientology abuse of families google Tony Sue scientology to see another family's fight to not lose their daughter to a cult.God Bless all.

Thanks for your comment AnonymousOfCourse. It is very sad to hear the personal stories of ex-scientologists whose faimlies have been destroyed because of Scientologys policy of disconnection. British Mum was at Augusts Manchester protest and hopefully will be able to reconnect with her daughter MANDY quite soon. It is one of the reasons why the protests continue.

Great work guys, 500 leaflets is a lot. I'm really looking forward to next month, almost sad that's it's so far away - feels like we're not doing enough almost, but it's good to not act so eagerly and have patience with this, it's a battle that's been going for decades now. My heart goes out to British Mum - I for one will be making sure that the public know about the Mandy situation next month.

Maybe some one can create a leaflet about British Mum for next month and the policy of disconnection. Unfortunately there are many stories like British Mum and MANDY, regarding Scientology. It is good to know you "will be making sure that the public know about it the Mandy situation next month."

Just read all your comments. THANK YOU for all your support & thats from the bottom of my heart. I wont be able to attend the Oct protest as my other daughter has just bought me a little puppy but when shes older I will bring her to a protest in Manchester. I really appreciate what you are doing, it really helps people like myself to continue the fight & also stops new people getting involved. Keep up the good work. love British Mum. x
