It has now been shown that people use the same part of the brain to think about the future as they do to think about the past and bring back memories according to a recent study.

A team of US researchers have been using imaging techniques to reveal that when thinking about the future and the past people access the same part of the brain. Researcher Karl Szpunar said thinking about the future could be impossible without also thinking about the past.
