Nearly 30 000 Evenflo high chairs for infants are the subject of a safety warning in Canada. The high chairs present both a choking hazard and a fall hazard to babies using them.
If you have one of the defective high chairs, do not use it until you contact the Evenflo company and receive a free repair kit.
This recall involves Evenflo MajesticTM high chairs manufactured before December 31, 2008. The recalled model numbers are:3001700, 3001713, 3001719CA, 3001733, 3001848, 3001852, 3003845.
The plastic caps and metal screws on both sides of the high chair can loosen and fall out, allowing the seat back to fall back or detach from the high chair unexpectedly. This poses both fall and choking hazards to children.
In Canada, Evenflo has received 37 reports of incidents involving seat backs reclining, falling back, or detaching unexpectedly, with 1 injury of a head bump.
