A Smoggy Day in the Chisos

Taken from the South Rim, looking south across the Burnt Land and the low Chisos towards the Rio Grand and Mexico. I have been here several times and I have never seen it quite this smoggy. I have been told that two coal fired power plants in Mexico are the source of most of the smog, but my guess is that lots of it probably comes from our side of the border as well. I have several other pictures from this area of the park from previous trips and when you compare them you realize how magnificent a view we may be loosing to air pollution.
