Today I read a simply wonderful and inspiring piece from the Jerusalem Post. It was titled "Sparking a Helping Hand". It went on to describe the wonderful life of Prof. Boris Rubinsky in his quest to invent new ways to help the poor regions of the world and inspire his students to do the same. His brilliance and unique abilities to find simple remedies that make life easier and safer in places where electricity is all but nonexistent is remarkable if not a miracle.

His Center for Bioengineering in the Service of Humanity and Society at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem appears to be a center for students that enjoy the comfort of knowing that their work helps humanity and those especially in need.

"Today Palestinian students work alongside their Israeli colleagues". Aside from the occasional "pro-Palestinian" that rejects cooperation.  The centers approach to problem-solving is to keep things simple. This seems to be the successful mantra that inspires his students to explore and produce opportunities that are already enhancing the global community.

As Prof Rubinsky so eloquently has stated," "You need some money with which to live,".... "but you don't need so much money and you don't get the same level of satisfaction from millions of dollars that you have from saving millions of lives."

I strongly encourage you to read this wonderful and life affirming article.

Certainly a men I would like to talk to my self and maybe find some common projects to work on.

I do not think that being "pro-Palestinian" is an obstacle to be able to collaborate. One does not have to   "rejects cooperation." even if the opinions do differ at times.

I know many Pro Israeli and pro Palestinian that still cooperate in many ways.

You do border OPINION here rather closely in this post.

I am not sure what I said that needs an opinion by me. Anyway, I hope to get an interview with Prof. Rubinsky. Thanks Uwe.

Barely a sniff of propaganda untill the pro Palestinian bit. The prof sounds like a good man, Israel needs more like him

I only quoted the article Sput. Rubinsky apparently true to his interests encouraged Palestinian participation and some pro-Palestinians here discouraged the interaction. Nothing more or less. I guess this kind of a statement does not make waves or "propaganda" points in Israel.

Whatever it is qualified in this diverse world of hate at least this is a sample that shows that a different approach as one in general would expect scores remarkable results. It is as I learned in my youth in the French language translated: One eats to live and not lives to eat. In analogy with "You need some money with which to live,".... "but you don't need so much money and you don't get the same level of satisfaction from millions of dollars that you have from saving millions of lives"

I am sorry that a side comment, seems to be taking the central point in this discussion.  An  issue that  is far from being the heart of the message  replaces the main message. There  are many outstanding people both on the Palestinian and Israeli side who want to collaborate.  Even more than one  may imagine. And indeed there are some on both sides that would discourage such collaboration - for various reasons.  If you really care drop this issue, and do your best to promote friendship and a quest for our common goal, which is shared by the great majority of Palestinians and Israelis -  the betterement of humanity.
