NP Rank:
Starbucks Removes Peanut Products from Shelves
Starbucks took a cautionary measure against salmonella poisoning on Monday by removing all products that contain peanut butter from their US and Canadian stores.
Though Starbucks does not claim to be affected by the outbreak, as the Peanut Corporation of America is not a supplier, they have removed certain menu items to be safe.
The move came amid a U.S. salmonella outbreak linked to peanut butter and peanut paste from the Peanut Corp of America's Blakely, Georgia processing facility. Seven deaths have been tied to the contamination, which has made hundreds of sick, according to U.S. health officials.
The salmonella outbreak continues to spread across the US and Canada. Stay tuned to NP's continuing coverage in our Salmonella Recall Channel.

I've noticed that Starbucks is very careful to provide warnings on products containing nuts.

This weekend at my favorite Starbucks, I chose a cranberry bliss over a peanut butter cookie. Thank goodness.

I've had a few interesting bugs but the worst was the time I had food poisoning. It was not pleasant. If you have it, you will know soon enough. I did not move off the toilet for a half a day and could barely stand up. I went to the doctor at about 11:00 pm and got an I.V. ; that really helped. For my hypoglycemia friend though it was almost a life or death situation. If you are able to type on the computer, you are fine.
