Study: Hangover? Coffee could do more harm than good

Everyone seems to have their own remedies for a dubious hangover; coffee and Tylenol seem to be common staples to any cure. A recent study, however, warns that the next morning may not be the time for coffee and pills as it could cause severe liver damage.
If your "cure" for a hangover involves popping lots of acetaminophen and chasing it with copious amounts of coffee, you could be harming your liver, says a U.S. study.
The damage comes from the increase in a toxic byproduct.
They found that caffeine triples the amount of a toxic byproduct, N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine (NAPQI), that the enzyme produces while breaking down acetaminophen.
NAPQI causes liver damage and can lead to liver failure in toxic interactions between alcohol and acetaminophen.
The researches dampen the warning, but nevertheless encourage moderation.
"People should be informed about this potentially harmful interaction," Sidney Nelson, one of the study's authors, said in a release. "The bottom line is that you don't have to stop taking acetaminophen or stop taking caffeine products, but you do need to monitor your intake more carefully when taking them together, especially if you drink alcohol."
Perhaps the wheat grass shots and fried food are a better bet.
What's your remedy?

Another reason: a hangover is a mild case of dehydration too...so since coffee also dehydrates you, it won't help. Drinking an energy drink before bed and when you get up in the morning -possibly diluted with water- is a great way to "feel' a little better. Aside from the obvious...don't drink as much :)
Good stuff.
